James Wayne Lewis was born and raised in New Mexico and has always had an appreciation for all types of art. He does a complete range of fine art, such as modern abstract paintings, marine art, western art . Living in New Mexico and Sonora, Mexico , he has been around diverse cultures for a lifetime. ” I love the passion that these cultures have and share, from the many types of art expressed, music, sculpture, painting, dance.”

The artist was primarily self-taught until he felt a need for growth and experimentation , he has studied with muralist Hector Vari of Mazatlan, Mexico and the Master of Curvismo, Ricardo Chavez- Mendez.

J Wayne lived in San Carlos, next to the Sea of Cortez and has always had a passion and respect for the Sea and its marine life and all natural resources, as expressed in many of his paintings.

J Wayne’s career to become an artist , came after being inspired by his artistically talented daughter Natasha, a very talented California artist.
